| TNK - We're currently doing some R&D for our second production of the Two Noble Kinsmen, developing it from a proscenium arch play into an audience immersive piece in the round for summer 2012. There will be live folk music, dancing, wrestling and the odd exorcism. | |

Unexpected Item - A site-specific show in development for 2012, set in a supermarket. For thousands of years the Sun was worshipped as our god- the great provider, the source of all life. Now our sustenance comes from another source: The Supermarket.
Each time we take a trip through the life-sustaining aisles we try not to see the legion of ethical wrongs waving at us from the shelves and from our own baskets: the pumped-up chickens who have never seen daylight, the whelks collected by illegal immigrants paid 50p per hour, the blueberries flown in from Brazil, the clothes stitched by tiny fingers in the third world. We are highly skilled at ignoring it all. Harder to ignore if that chicken is singing you a lament of life and death in the battery, or if the whelk picker's bloated corpse is packed in the freezer next to his catch... An all-singing, all-dancing shopping trip round a maze of social, ecological and ethical dubiousness. Join us to explore, deplore and celebrate the madness of the supermarket. |
